Reiki is a Japanese form of alternative medicine. Reiki practitioners use a technique called palm healing or hands-on healing through which a “universal energy” is transferred through the palms of the practitioner to the client in order to encourage emotional or physical healing.
“Rei” roughly translates to higher intelligence, or that which guides the creation of the universe. “Ki” translates to energy, the Japanese interpretation of chi, prana, or a non-physical energy that animates all living things.
